Meet the Founder

Discover the vision behind ARSG. Our founder shares the journey, values and purpose that drive our mission to transform PE, support teachers and empower children through sport.

Tashan Russell | Founder

ARSG wasn’t born out of business strategy, it was born out of a belief that PE can change lives when delivered with care, creativity and accountability. Tashan saw the limitations of typical cover agencies. He saw gaps: schools left without long-term impact, teachers without CPD, pupils disconnected from sport.

ARSG was born from a belief that PE can be more than just activity, it can be a tool for behaviour change, confidence building, and long-term success in education, as it was for me as a pupil. With a background in both coaching and school mentoring, I created ARSG to be the partner schools (and learners alike) have been missing.

From Pupil to PE Leader: A Story of Purpose & Impact

A Foundation in Football and Coaching

Tashan’s journey began as a high-level footballer, eventually moving into coaching where he became Head Coach of East London for a national football development academy. He was later promoted to Regional Academy Manager for the South and South East of England, where he oversaw over 20 academies and more than 40 coaches. This experience taught him how to lead, scale programmes and mentor coaches, all while ensuring every child had a pathway to progress.

Bringing That Expertise into Schools

After earning his BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports Coaching, Tashan took an apprenticeship role in a primary school, quickly gaining hands-on experience. From there, he worked for a PE agency, leading PE across multiple schools in London and earning further qualifications including:

  • Level 5 in Education and Training
  • Level 3 in Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education and School Sport
  • Level 3 in Multi-Sports
  • Several qualifications in individual sports

Tashan later trained in the very secondary school he once attended as a student, giving him a unique perspective on school environments. He has since worked across state and independent schools as a PE teacher, form tutor, pastoral mentor and youth worker, always using sport as a way to connect with students, especially those who struggled in traditional settings.

Why ARSG Exists

ARSG was created to fill the gaps that schools often face: lack of behaviour-trained coaches, sustainable teacher development, and engaging physical education that supports mental wellbeing. Tashan knows from experience that PE can be more than activity, it can be the key to unlocking confidence, focus and lifelong success.

Through ARSG, he’s committed to making that vision a reality across every classroom and sports hall the team enters.
